Alacranes, in the Yucatan Peninsula, is a protected area and consists of a large area of reefs and islands located approximately 75 miles north of Puerto Progreso, Yucatan.

The main island is called Perez Island, where the lighthouse and the island’s rangers’ house are located.

There are other islands in the same area such as Isla pájaros, Desterrada, Isla Muertos, Isla Chica.

Alacranes reef is the largest coral structure in the Gulf of Mexico, there are more than 100 species of fixed and migratory birds and it is a paradise for birdwatchers.

There are more than 34 species of corals, an ideal place for snorkeling and a great diversity of marine fauna making it an ideal place for fishing all kinds of fish.

To make this excursion is necessary to arrive at the airport of Merida, Yucatan or Cancun, Quintana Roo, Cancun is located 4 hours by road from Merida.

We depart from Yucaltepen, which is located a few minutes from Puerto Progreso

We offer 3 days and 2 nights adventure trips. The transfer time to the reefs is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes and we do it in 38 and 35 feet boats with several engines to guarantee safety.

All trips are private. Clients can sleep in their own tents on the beach or in hammocks at the lighthouse keeper’s house.

Our trips include meals and beverages for the stay.

We make food with what we catch on the day on the charcoal on the beach as well as meats or chicken according to the tastes of each client.

We also bring beers, water, soft drinks, disposable plates and everything necessary for the days of stay on the island.
